Job Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

This role is focused on the acquisition of goods and services essential for production operations. Duties include evaluating requests, identifying suppliers, assessing pricing, suitability, and availability of products or services, comparing specifications, and exploring alternatives. Collaborate with Launch teams on RFQ preparation, supplier quote analysis and negotiation, Supplier Statement of Work discussions, Make vs. Buy evaluations, Supplier Relationship management, and Conflict Resolution. Work is conducted independently under the general supervision of the Purchasing Manager.

  • Assist ECO and NPD teams in RFQ preparation, supplier quote analysis, and negotiation, along with Supplier Statement of Work discussions and Make vs. Buy evaluations.
  • Formulate Sourcing Recommendations with adequate justification and documentation.
  • Establish clear expectations with suppliers to meet business needs.
  • Serve as the primary contact for supplier relationship management and issue resolution; expedite materials as necessary to align with the production schedule.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives through spend analysis, supplier negotiations, and strategic sourcing methods.
  • Participate as a member of the Global Commodity Team to address commodity strategy, minority business strategy, supplier consolidation, and cost-saving measures.
  • Support manufacturing operations and quality assurance teams in resolving supplier-related issues.
  • Manage Purchase Orders and Vendor Master data within the ERP system.
  • Adhere to purchasing policies and procedures, as well as legal and ethical standards.
  • Navigates legal matters concerning Terms and Conditions, identifying issues that necessitate professional legal counsel.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies in the procure-to-pay system to maintain current supplier accounts.
  • Recommend modifications and consolidations that align with manufacturing requirements and support just-in-time principles.
  • Maintain a current understanding of Lean principles and methods, including single-piece flow and just-in-time.
  • Analyze material usage and establish ordering criteria to ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Utilize historical usage trends and backlog data to forecast procurement needs.
  • Understand vendor capacity and limitations to ensure that Terex's business constitutes a reasonable share of the vendor's total operations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to oversee and manage procurement projects, including new supplier development, capacity assessments, and qualification of new components while phasing out existing components.

Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in purchasing goods and services to support production and aftermarket needs.
  • Proficient in analyzing complex data, identifying savings opportunities, implementing sourcing strategies, and executing tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to manage multiple categories and projects simultaneously, coordinating strategies across various business functions.
  • Experience in financial and quantitative analysis is advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with all levels of management.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, adept at facilitating constructive outcomes.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Oracle and SQL applications is a plus.
  • Organized and capable of managing a high volume of interactions across diverse company sectors.
  • Able to prioritize effectively among multiple tasks.

Salary Range: $50-$65K
