Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients' physical functioning and provide training and assistive devices to eliminate or reduce deficits.
  • Develop a plan of care with patient and caregiver involvement, in collaboration with the nurse, to identify short and long-term goals.
  • Evaluate, instruct, and monitor specific functional exercise programs to increase strength, range of motion, and coordination of upper extremities.
  • Teach the use of adaptive equipment to patients, caregivers, and other healthcare team members to promote maximum independence.
  • Maintain communication with physicians and other personnel involved in patient care through written reports, attendance at meetings, and confirmed telephone calls.
Qualifications
  • Current NYS license to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Degree from an Accredited Institute for Occupational Therapy.
Salary

Fee for service: $75 per visit, $80 for evaluation.
