About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Grocery Store Associate to join our team at Ruler Foods. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a safe and clean store environment, and promoting a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain a safe and clean store environment, adhering to company standards and guidelines.
  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, handling various payment methods and maintaining a high level of cash handling skills.
  • Rotate merchandise according to code dating policies, checking product quality and ensuring freshness.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and promote a positive store environment.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads, and communicate product information to customers.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, maintaining proper temperatures in cases and coolers.
  • Report any safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
Requirements
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of basic math.
  • Ability to fully complete the cashier training program.
  • Ability to memorize produce items and sale items.
  • Effective communication and reading skills.
  • Must be 18 years old.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Customer service experience.
  • Retail experience.

Physical demands include, but are not limited to, standing up to 100% of the time, lifting an average of 50 lbs., pushing/pulling carts and skids, bending, twisting, squatting, turning, climbing on a ladder or stool, manual dexterity with both arms and legs, and repetitive motion of hands/wrists. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
