Luminis Health, a forward-thinking healthcare organization based in Maryland, is in search of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to collaborate closely with the physician team within the Neurosurgery Division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting comprehensive clinical assessments, including evaluations in preoperative, perioperative, postoperative, and outpatient environments, along with performing bedside procedures in the ICU.
- Collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams to manage patients undergoing Neurosurgery.
- Gathering relevant health data and interpreting diagnostic tests and procedures pertinent to the patient's condition, while assisting in surgical interventions.
- Developing treatment strategies for neurological issues within the scope of practice, and implementing therapeutic measures for specific conditions as necessary. Utilizing sound judgment for cases requiring consultation or referral to supervising Neurosurgeons or other healthcare professionals.
- Analyzing clinical findings, both normal and abnormal, to formulate accurate diagnoses. Identifying assessment and diagnostic approaches, as well as therapeutic interventions that align with current evidence, including research and expert clinical insights; collaborating with physicians on treatment plans as required.
- Providing direct patient care and managing complex cases. Enhancing patient engagement by clearly communicating treatment plans and addressing potential challenges.
- Participating in on-call duties, including coverage during nights and weekends.
- Engaging in quality assurance and patient satisfaction initiatives, integrating feedback into improvement strategies and relevant quality forums. Utilizing quality metrics to enhance care delivery effectiveness.
- Staying informed on contemporary healthcare research and evidence to expand clinical expertise, thereby improving role performance and understanding of professional matters.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
- Current licensure as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
- Clinical experience in Neurosurgery or Surgical settings as an ACNP.
