About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cleaning and Maintenance Specialist to join our facilities operations team at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain public and staff spaces, including museums, schools, and related buildings, using standardized practices and procedures.
  • Clean work areas and administrative offices, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for employees and visitors.
  • Clean employee and public restrooms, disinfecting toilets, sinks, and floors, and replacing towels and soap.
  • Clean windows and interior glass, maintaining the museum's high standards of appearance and quality.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, polish, empty trash, and replace liners, ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of our facilities operations team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Possess physical stamina to perform tasks involving lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, stair climbing, and walking between buildings.
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform tasks efficiently, with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, enabling collaboration with colleagues and external partners.
  • Availability to work overtime, including weekends and holidays, with advance notice whenever possible.
