About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Linux Systems Engineer to join our team at Apple. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our Linux production systems at scale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement multi-datacenter deployment strategies for large-scale Linux environments with heterogeneous hardware.
  • Build automation tools and scripts using Bash, Python, Go, and other languages.
  • Design and support orchestration pipelines using Ansible and Puppet.
  • Familiarity with Hadoop and its ecosystem, including Hive, Pig, Spark, HDFS, HBase, Oozie, and Zookeeper, is highly desirable.
  • Fix and address issues with UNIX and TCP/IP network stack components.
  • Design and support Linux systems, including automated OS installation, Linux certification, compile and validate various kernels, package management, OS lifecycle management, diagnostic, and performance troubleshooting/profiling.
About the Team

You will be part of a collaborative team that works closely with other teams to run workloads and analyze/debug data. We are looking for someone who is passionate about Linux systems and has a strong background in system automation technology, such as Puppet or Ansible.

Requirements
  • Extensive Linux experience, especially with RHEL and compatible systems like CentOS, etc.
  • Excellent experience with programming languages like C, C++, or Go.
  • Strong knowledge of GitOps and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with alerting, monitoring, and deployments.
  • Expertise in Linux systems and networking concepts.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
