Culinary Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Air Culinaire Worldwide. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food and menu items to meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food to specification, ensuring high-quality presentation and taste.
• Assist in the butchering of meats and fish, and participate in daily kitchen operations.
• Ensure that all food preparations and presentations meet our quality standards.
• Use preventative maintenance to ensure the proper functioning of kitchen equipment.
• Assist with ordering, inventory, cleaning, and grocery shopping as needed.

Requirements

• A High School diploma is required.
• Current ServSafe Food Handling Certificate is required at hire or within 45 days of hire.
• Must have knife/cutting skills and be punctual and dependable.
• Must have an understanding of cooking techniques and culinary experience in restaurants, hotels, or catering companies.
• Demonstrated ability to take orders and follow through, as well as direct and work well with others in a team-driven environment.

Operational Demands

• Open availability to work weekends and holidays.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stoop, stand for long periods, walk, read orders, and listen while discussing orders with fellow co-workers.
• Frequently required to use hands to handle, push, pull, reach, and carry items with hands and arms.
• Must lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Language Skills

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to apply good judgment and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Work Environment

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
