About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Services Specialist to join our team at Austin Health and Safety Council. In this role, you will be responsible for administering respirator fit testing, audiometric testing, drug & Alcohol Testing, and pulmonary function testing.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all testing equipment, including respirator fit machines, pulmonary function machines, audiometry machines, and breath alcohol machines.
  • Calibrate all equipment daily in accordance with manufacturer's requirements.
  • Inspect and repair equipment as necessary.
  • Conduct periodic surveys to identify and correct safety and hygiene hazards.
  • Complete administrative tasks to verify and record required information.
  • Administer respirator fit tests in compliance with CFR 1910.134 Respiratory Protection Standard.
  • Administer drug and alcohol collections in compliance with 49 CFR Part 40 standards.

You will also maintain customer relationships by responding to questions and concerns with speed and professionalism. You will work independently, but also collaborate with other departments as needed.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Customer service skills and strong communication abilities.
  • Able to adapt to varied environments and learn detailed procedures.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and make effective decisions.
  • Certifications in CAOHC, NIOSH, BAT, and DOT are required.
Estimated Salary:

$55,000 - $65,000 per year.
