Job Summary

The Route Driver plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the satisfaction of our clients. As a key member of the Compass Group Careers team, you will be responsible for driving a company vehicle over an established route to deliver products or render services, while maintaining and building excellent client and customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to our clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Product Delivery: Deliver products or render services to our clients in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain proper inventory levels and product distribution for micro markets.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of micro markets and other related equipment.
  • Client Communication: Inform clients and customers of new products or services, listen to and resolve service complaints.
  • Merchandise Display: Set up merchandise and sales promotion displays or issue sales promotion materials to customers.
  • Accountability: Accountable for all receipt of goods, invoices, delivery tickets, cash received or collected and product.
  • Inventory Reconciliation: Conduct inventory reconciliation in accordance with District procedures.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Keep company vehicle clean and organized at all times; perform pre & post trip vehicle inspections.
  • Safety and Security: Perform all job functions in a safe and professional manner.
Requirements
  • Driving Experience: 3 years driving experience required.
  • Customer Service Experience: Preferred 1-2 years' experience in a customer service position, or a minimum of 1 year of related experience.
  • Valid Driver's License: Valid Non-CDL Class C driver's license (unless otherwise indicated by state) and good driving record.
  • Lifting Ability: Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a consistent basis.
  • Material Handling: Ability to operate or willingness to learn material handling equipment (box truck, handcarts, etc.).
  • Independence: Able to work independently, responsible for route, work unsupervised 98% of the work day.
