Job Title: Respiratory Therapist NICU

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Versa Recruiting, LLC.

Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for delivering and assessing responses to ordered therapy per plan of care, including routine and intensive therapy and diagnostic procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory therapy and experience working in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and assess responses to ordered therapy per plan of care, including routine and intensive therapy and diagnostic procedures.
  • Utilize various types of oxygen and other therapeutic gas equipment, such as masks, tents, and incubators.
  • Administer prescribed doses of medicinal gases and aerosol drugs.
  • Measure ventilator volumes, pressures, and blood gas analysis.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and general acceptance of treatment.
  • Perform a variety of duties related to setting up, operating, cleaning, sterilizing, and storing respiratory therapy equipment.
  • Respond to emergency team calls.
  • Educate patients and family members and provide information about community support groups and other available programs.
  • Provide age and culturally appropriate care.
  • Orient and mentor new staff members.
  • Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Qualifications:

  • Active Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) License required.
  • Minimum 1 Year of ACUTE CARE Level 3 NICU Respiratory Therapy Experience Required.
  • BLS health care provider, ACLS, and NRP required.
  • Must be able to treat adults, pediatricians, and newborns.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
