Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our Cardiovascular Operating Room team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our team of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room environment to ensure a safe and efficient surgical experience.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly.
- Provide patient care and support during surgical procedures, including positioning, draping, and maintaining a sterile field.
- Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans, in collaboration with the surgical team and other healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date patient records, including surgical reports and other relevant documentation.
- High School graduate or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher in Surgical Technology or a related field preferred.
- Graduate of a Surgical Technology program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
- One year of experience as a Surgical Technologist in a hospital or surgical setting, with a focus on cardiovascular surgery.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification also required.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on patient safety and satisfaction.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of healthcare professionals.
- Ability to maintain a high level of concentration and attention to detail, even in high-stress situations.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends, as needed.
