About the Role

Portsmouth Regional Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN OR First Assist to join our team. As a key member of our perioperative department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient's condition and monitor vitals, providing general nursing care before and after surgery
  • Ensure that the Operating Room is prepared with all necessary supplies, implants, instrumentation, and equipment
  • Keep the operating room sterilized
  • Pass medical instruments to the surgeons during operation
  • Review charts for completeness, in accordance with documentation protocols prior to and after the surgical procedure
  • Communicate effectively with patients, teammates, and physicians to ensure continuity of care

Requirements

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse
  • Associate Degree
  • Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA), or Certified First Assistant, or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CFA)
