Job Title: Renal Hemodialysis Technician - Patient Care

We are seeking a highly skilled dialysis technician to join our team at Lakeview Specialty Hospital & Rehab. As a dialysis technician, you will play a crucial role in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy to our patients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in renal dialysis and excellent communication skills. You will work closely with our healthcare team to ensure that our patients receive the highest level of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sets up, tests, and operates hemodialysis machines for patient treatments.
  • Collects and documents pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight for each patient.
  • Evaluates vascular access pre-treatment and performs cannulation.
  • Monitors patients' response to dialysis therapy.
  • Evaluates patients prior to treatment termination and discontinue dialysis according to established procedures.
  • Reports significant information or changes in patient condition to supervisors.
  • Enters treatment data into clinical applications accurately and timely.
  • Prepares and stores lab samples according to laboratory specifications.
  • Cleans dialysis equipment and surrounding area according to facility policy.
  • Assists in patient education.
  • Organizes and efficiently uses supplies and equipment to prevent waste.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education.
  • At least one year of Renal Dialysis experience.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, including basic grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and demonstrate organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to maintain professional conduct in patient care.
  • Basic computer skills.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current Dialysis Certification.
  • Current State of Wisconsin CNA.
  • Current BLS CPR issued by the American Heart Association.
