Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Lead Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will oversee the design and acquisition of machinery while establishing the necessary procedures for the production of both high and low voltage products. This role requires close collaboration with Prototype and Design teams to resolve challenges and provide engineering assistance, ensuring a seamless transition from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop processes for new components and equipment by collaborating with the prototype manufacturing team to facilitate the launch of new systems.
  • Work in tandem with production teams to identify and resolve any issues related to product components and assemblies.
  • Specify materials and components, ensuring compliance with internal and customer specifications.
  • Contribute significantly to mechanical system DFMEAs and PFMEAs.
  • Assess supplier information and validation data to ensure appropriate supplier selection.
  • Play a vital role in mechanical system DVP&Rs for integration into overall ABS system DVP&Rs.
  • Support all prototype system builds, ensuring timely delivery of parts and resolution of issues.
  • Enhance professional and technical knowledge through educational seminars, conferences, and networking.
  • Contribute to team success by completing projects within established timelines.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Comply with federal and state regulations.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in automotive or similar product design and development.
  • Familiarity with TS 16949 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Experience in fixturing design, including robotic, CNC, and welding.
  • Understanding of assembly controls such as sensors and mechanical poke yokes.
  • Knowledge of robotic and automated assembly processes.
  • Experience with pneumatic assemblies and valve banks.
  • Proficient in CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Experience in multi-content assembly processes with a comprehensive understanding of product manufacturing from start to finish.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and data analysis capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills for presenting technical data to various stakeholders.
  • Experience with high voltage lithium-ion battery systems.
  • Knowledge of automotive industry standards.
  • Familiarity with the product design process.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented problem solver.
