This role is part of West Pharmaceutical Services, a company dedicated to improving patient health through innovative solutions.

The Automation Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining the efficiency of automated assembly lines, providing support to shift operations as needed, and developing long-term predictive/preventative maintenance plans for all assembly equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Logically troubleshoot and repair the pilot assembly line and related bench top equipment.
  • Assist shift lead in maintaining quality of finished product through proper machine operation.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory with proper cataloging of parts.
  • Provide timely notification to shift lead of maintenance issues and downtime.
  • Review line history and documentation to enhance line efficiencies.
  • Follow escalation plan to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain and update all equipment log books with accurate repair/adjustment information.
  • Interface daily with shift leader and technician at shift change.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all equipment.

Requirements:

  • Education or Equivalent Experience: 2-year technical degree.
  • 2 years of experience in related industry.
  • Experience in medical device industry or other regulated industry.
  • Background with medical/pharmaceutical clinical trials would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of quality systems requirements, FDA Quality System Regulation, cGMP and ISO 9002.

Working Environment:

The Automation Maintenance Technician will work in a manufacturing facility, which houses plastic injection molding machines. The work environment is equipped with adequate lighting, cooling/heating, and equipment in good working condition.

The ideal candidate will be able to work constructively in a stressful environment, maintain company confidentiality, and adhere to strict standards in a medical device manufacturing setting.
