Job Overview

Trotter Workforce is seeking a skilled Machining Specialist to join our team. As a CNC Operator, you will play a crucial role in producing high-quality parts and materials by operating machines to perform various tasks.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $46,500 - $49,500 per year, with benefits including health insurance, life insurance, paid time off, retirement plan, and vision insurance.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in set-up and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as turning, facing, milling and drilling, etc.
  • Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc.
  • Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
  • Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
  • Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts
  • Supervise the machine while they execute the task and make any necessary adjustments to compensate for tool wear, etc.
  • Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
  • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality
Requirements
  • CNC milling machine experience: 10 years (Preferred)
  • CNC lathe experience: 5 years (Preferred)
  • Proven experience as CNC operator
  • Skill in setting tooling as well as precision gages
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
  • Basic understanding of conversational programming and CAD/CAM
  • Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus
  • Successfully completed apprenticeship is a plus
  • Familiarity with Mazak CNC machines is beneficial but not required
  • MUST have valid drivers license and reliable transportation
