Detention LPN

**Job Summary**

Under general supervision, performs professional nursing and health-related services of moderate difficulty to prisoners within the Yuma County Detention Center. This position has department-specific responsibility.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• Provides nursing care to prisoners, including administering medications, performing medical procedures, and maintaining accurate medical records.
• Collaborates with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for prisoners.
• Conducts health assessments, identifies health risks, and develops strategies to mitigate them.
• Participates in health education programs for prisoners, promoting healthy behaviors and disease prevention.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

**Requirements:**

• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Arizona.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a correctional facility.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with prisoners, staff, and healthcare team members.
