Certification and Experience Requirements

Candidates for the Nuclear Medicine Technologist position at Union Hospital must possess a strong foundation in nuclear medicine technology. A certification in nuclear medicine technology (CNMT) or a registered technologist (RT) certification in nuclear medicine (N) is required. Additionally, candidates must have a valid CPR certification. A minimum of one year of experience in nuclear medicine technology is necessary, with preference given to those with experience in positron emission tomography (PET).

Job Details

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will work Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts, with a 40-hour workweek. The position requires flexibility to meet department needs. There are no weekend or floating requirements.

Additional Requirements

Candidates must be able to work effectively in a team environment and possess excellent communication skills. The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information is also essential. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including preparing patients for imaging procedures, operating imaging equipment, and maintaining accurate records. The position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Extension and Approval Process

The hospital's leadership meets weekly on Wednesdays to review and approve extension requests. The approval process typically takes two weeks, but the hospital is flexible and can accommodate requests up to six weeks in advance. Extensions require approval from C-Suite and Unit leadership.
