Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our Float Pool team in the Medical Specialties department at Sharp HealthCare. As an LVN, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and staff in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients, staff, and physicians in maintaining a high level of efficiency and customer service while providing quality care to a designated patient population.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately, ensuring verification by a licensed person and documentation of all medications administered.
  • Prepare patients for examination or procedures, obtain complete and accurate consent, and label biopsies in a thorough and accurate manner.
  • Accurately document patient care per protocol and partner with physicians to continuously learn and expand clinical knowledge base.
  • Provide assistance to PSRs in resolving issues related to front desk responsibilities, including scheduling and telephone management.
  • Participate in clinical projects as directed by the physician or manager.
Requirements
  • California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - CA Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Technicians - REQUIRED
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association - REQUIRED
  • 1 Year LVN experience in related clinical area - PREFERRED
  • Ambulatory care experience - PREFERRED
  • ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart Association - PREFERRED
  • IV Certification (NPTA Sterile Product Certification) - Various-Employee provides certificate - PREFERRED
Working Conditions

This is a float pool position that services multiple Sharp Rees-Stealy locations, including Rancho Bernardo, Sorrento Mesa, Genesse, Scripps Ranch, La Mesa, Chula Vista, and Del Mar. The role will be for the department of Endocrinology.
