Role Summary
The Certified Surgical Technologist Specialist plays a crucial role in facilitating surgical procedures by ensuring the availability of sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment. This position requires maintaining a sterile environment and proactively addressing the needs of the surgical team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Catholic Health Initiatives.
2. Function as a scrub person during surgical and invasive procedures by:
a. Assembling necessary supplies and equipment for the procedure;
b. Organizing and preparing sterile instruments and supplies;
c. Collaborating with the RN circulator for accurate accounting of instruments;
d. Assisting in the placement of sterile drapes;
e. Providing instruments and supplies to the surgical team throughout the procedure;
f. Maintaining an orderly sterile field;
g. Ensuring the sterility of the field and implementing corrective measures as necessary;
h. Preparing sterile dressings.
3. Clean and prepare surgical instruments for processing and transport them to decontamination areas.
4. Assist in the post-procedure cleaning of the surgical room and prepare it for subsequent patients.
5. Engage in ongoing educational and competency verification activities relevant to scrub person responsibilities.
6. Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
+ Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
Required Licensure and Certifications:
+ Certified Surgical Technologist
+ BLS – CPR certification within five days of employment.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
+ Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
+ Experience with various advanced surgical equipment.
Compensation
Pay Range: $35.74/hour
