Job Summary

Southwest Technical College seeks a skilled Welding Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education and job skill training in a safe, clean, and productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and deliver curriculum in accordance with designated and approved course curriculum and assessments.
  2. Collaborate with the Instructional Systems Design team to develop curriculum that meets College program and accreditation standards.
  3. Provide job readiness training, promote professionalism, and assist students in seeking and finding employment.
  4. Maintain a safe and organized training area, ensuring adequate supplies and equipment are available.
  5. Orient new students to classroom facilities, technology, and program expectations.
  6. Support student participation in Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs).
  7. Develop and work within the assigned program budget.
  8. Build and maintain relationships with industry partners, developing and participating in Occupational Advisory Committee(s).
  9. Develop work-based learning activities for students, arrange for supervision and evaluation, and record progress and completion.
  10. Participate in professional development opportunities, including training in distance education.
  11. May assist in the development and instruction of custom courses.
  12. Ensure effective two-way communication at all levels of responsibility.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Education: A High School Diploma is required, and a Welding Program Graduate is preferred.

Certifications: AWS CWI is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of three years of related industry experience.

Background Check: Must be able to pass a background check.

Environmental Factors: Conventional Educational Environment.
