Position Overview

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) oversees all operational, financial, and administrative functions of the organization in alignment with its mission and values. Key responsibilities encompass human resources, budget management, information technology, facility oversight, and communication strategies. The CEO collaborates with the Board of Directors and provides support to various committees, reporting on financial and operational matters.

Key Responsibilities

Personnel Management

  • Recruit, train, and supervise administrative and operational staff.
  • Engage with external contractors and oversee their performance.
  • Establish and uphold personnel policies in collaboration with the Board.
  • Coordinate with clergy and volunteers to address administrative needs.

Financial Oversight

  • Work with the Chief Financial Officer to develop annual budget proposals.
  • Monitor income and expenses, ensuring adherence to financial policies.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare timely financial reports.
  • Supervise fundraising initiatives and provide administrative support to achieve financial goals.

Technology and Facilities Management

  • Oversee technology needs, including software and hardware for virtual services.
  • Manage facility maintenance and security in collaboration with relevant committees.
  • Ensure the proper care of religious items and oversee safety protocols.

Operational Leadership

  • Establish policies that promote the long-term health of the organization.
  • Manage daily operations, ensuring efficient office practices and record-keeping.
  • Facilitate scheduling and resource allocation for events and services.

Board Relations

  • Keep Board members informed of meetings and operational updates.
  • Provide expertise and support to the Board and its committees.
  • Attend Board meetings and deliver reports on operational issues.

Communications

  • Supervise communications staff and oversee the production of publications.
  • Create and edit necessary materials as determined by the Board.
  • Manage publicity and communications for significant events.

Additional Duties

  • Serve as a welcoming point of contact for members and prospective members.
  • Assist members with event planning and facility use.
  • Monitor insurance policies and seek grant opportunities.
  • Implement additional policies as required for effective operations.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will demonstrate a deep understanding of Jewish traditions and practices, along with strong leadership, financial management, and organizational skills. They should be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and possess excellent communication abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with membership database systems is essential.

The salary range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience, including benefits such as vacation, health insurance, and retirement plans.
