Apprentice Plumber/Steamfitter Opportunity

The Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for Plumbers & Steamfitters, Local Union 81 JATC, is seeking skilled individuals to join their apprenticeship program. As an apprentice plumber/steamfitter, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop skills in the trade, working under the guidance of experienced professionals.

Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be physically able to perform the work of the trade
  • Must reside within the jurisdiction of Local Union 81
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must pass a drug screening
  • Must take and pass the Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test
What to Expect

As an apprentice, you will be required to work on various projects, including plumbing and steamfitting tasks. You will also be expected to attend classes at an approved school and participate in on-the-job training. The apprenticeship program is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to become a journeyman plumber/steamfitter.

The Committee requires that applicants meet the above requirements and are willing to commit to the apprenticeship program. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply. The apprenticeship program is registered with the New York State Department of Labor and meets the standards established by the Commissioner.
