POSITION SUMMARY:
- Formulate and implement purchasing strategies while overseeing the procurement team in their daily responsibilities of sourcing suppliers and obtaining products, equipment, and services.
- This position is also responsible for managing receiving and inventory operations to ensure all procurement, receiving, and inventory activities are executed accurately, including processing payments.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related discipline is required.
- A High School Diploma or GED is also necessary.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- At least 4 years of combined experience in Procurement, inventory management, and receiving processes.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in leadership and team management.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Comprehensive knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Mathematical proficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing and executing effective purchasing strategies.
- Overseeing daily purchasing, receiving, and inventory operations, delegating tasks to team members.
- Managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, pricing, and timelines.
- Maintaining an organized supplier database, purchase records, and necessary documentation.
- Collaborating with inventory control to assess and fulfill inventory needs.
- Supervising procurement for manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Ensuring all procured items adhere to required quality standards and specifications.
- Generating cost estimates and managing budgets effectively.
- Improving purchasing systems and processes for efficiency.
- Training new personnel on purchasing protocols and system functionalities.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
- Effective planning and organizational capabilities.
- Ability to work independently.
