We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented **Utility Worker** to join our team at THE NEW-INDY GROUP. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our production processes.
Key Responsibilities- **Waste Management**: Properly dispose of all waste materials and recyclable paper products throughout the facility.
- **Assembly and Production**: Assemble various items, including foam, corrugated, and other materials, to meet packaging requirements.
- **Equipment Operation**: Safely operate standard warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, and operate a die press.
- **Maintenance and Quality Control**: Perform routine maintenance tasks, turn in work orders for repairs, and conduct quality control checks on your own work.
- **Inventory Management**: Maintain accurate inventories of bailing wire, wax, and no-wax tags, and scrap bales.
- **Team Collaboration**: Assist in two-man feeds as necessary and apply proper load tags and spot labels to corrugated components.
- **Manufacturing Experience**: Previous experience in the corrugated industry is preferred.
- **Attention to Detail**: Ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy and interpret product layout and production specifications.
- **Physical Demands**: Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- **Work Environment**: Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and humid conditions, high places, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.
