Job Summary

UCHealth is seeking a highly skilled Urology Technician to join our team. As a Urology Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our urology team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain patient history and vital signs, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Explain procedures, document care, and communicate findings with RNs and physicians, promoting effective collaboration and patient satisfaction.
  • Assist with urologic radiographic and ultrasound examinations, cystoscopies, and UDS studies, ensuring compliance with established protocols and guidelines.
  • Perform urinary catheter insertions and removals, laboratory duties, and simple dressing changes, maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Communicate prescription refill requests to physicians and call in refills to pharmacies, ensuring seamless medication management.
  • Collect or prepare specimens, administer medications and injections per practice-specific guidelines, and send specimens to testing laboratories, adhering to established protocols and regulations.
  • Clean and restock rooms, supplies, and equipment, maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Transport patients, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the care process.
Requirements
  • Credentials: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider, relevant certification as determined at position level.
  • Minimum Experience: 1 year of healthcare-related experience.
  • Education: Completion of a Medical Assistant program through an accredited school or documentation of a medical program that meets the criteria of a medical assistant program.
