Winding Specialist

This position is responsible for winding coils used in Sunbelt-Solomon Solution's transformers according to winding specifications produced by the Engineering Department.

• Select and prepare wire for primary and secondary windings of coil to be wound.
• Operate winding machine to create coils with uniform winding and shape.
• Monitor turns counter and stop machine at specified number of turns.
• Wrap insulation between layers and around wound coil or insert ducts between turns to form cooling ducts.
• Cut wire to form leads and strip insulation from end of lead wires.
• Interface with company's time and attendance software to record time spent working on individual jobs.
• Test coils for winding continuity as required.

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing/technical environment.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write.
• Ability to effectively present information to other employees.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
• A resume is required in order to be considered for the position.

• Employee must be able to stand, operate foot pedal and reach with hands and fingers while performing the duties of this position.
• The employee is required to walk.
• The employee must frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
