Senior Property and Casualty Underwriter

R-T Specialty is seeking a meticulous Senior Property and Casualty Underwriter to enhance our underwriting team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the management of property and casualty insurance workflows, provide expert guidance, and ensure compliance with underwriting standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Effectively manage the workflow for new and renewal property and casualty insurance applications
  • Conduct thorough risk evaluations and make well-informed decisions regarding risk acceptance
  • Engage in negotiations with brokers to establish terms and conditions while identifying opportunities for cross-selling
  • Formulate strategic initiatives aimed at generating new business and retaining existing portfolios
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with both internal teams and external partners to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Enhance underwriting processes and implement innovative technologies
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Property and Casualty Underwriting
  • A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred
  • Possession of state P&C and/or surplus line licenses is essential
  • Preferred certifications include Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC)
