Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Composition Lecturer to join our team at the University of California Irvine. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching composition courses, developing curriculum, and contributing to the department's academic programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach composition courses to undergraduate students
  • Develop and implement curriculum for composition courses
  • Contribute to the department's academic programs and initiatives
  • Participate in departmental meetings and committees
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and research skills
Requirements
  • PhD in English, Rhetoric & Composition, Writing Studies, Applied Linguistics, or a related field
  • Two years of college-level teaching experience, with experience teaching rhetoric and composition at the post-secondary level
  • Experience teaching multilingual students and online instruction
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Second-language instruction certification
  • Experience with instructional technologies
  • Research experience in composition and rhetoric
