Commercial Application Service Technician

Objective:
To independently conduct intricate on-site diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance tasks on commercial customer application machinery. This role may require occasional guidance from the CAD Application Support Specialist and the Location Service Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Focus on Commercial Application Support throughout the year.
Carry out complex on-site diagnostics and repairs on application equipment and established Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products.
Travel within the designated territory to connect with commercial operators and locations.
Design and implement training programs for staff on commercial application machinery, repair, and maintenance.
Participate in mandatory Service EDUCATE Training programs.
Assist in customer clinics.
Discuss and clarify any maintenance, repair, or service issues directly with customers and document them on work orders.
May promote and sell dealer service programs directly to clients.
May establish and execute effective stocking processes with the Parts Department to ensure proper seasonal parts inventory in the mobile service vehicle.
Stay updated on John Deere and Hagie applicators as well as competitive products.
Maintain the condition of the mobile service vehicle, including inventory, tools, and equipment.
Complete all necessary reports and forms associated with work assignments.
Account for all time and materials utilized in performing assigned tasks.
May fill in as an Advanced or Master Service Technician as business needs dictate.
May collaborate with customers to identify and utilize their shops for servicing their machines.
Qualifications:
Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:
Must be a Select Technician to provide after-hours support.
A minimum of four years of experience in service repairs.
Proven knowledge of Commercial Application equipment.
Exceptional interpersonal and customer service abilities.
Capability to perform complex repairs and maintenance using specialized tools and equipment, adhering to Technical Manual procedures.
Expertise in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and commercial application machinery.
Proficient in using Service Advisor and basic computer functions.
Able to operate vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly.
Advanced or Master Service Technician certification is preferred.
A High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required; an Associate degree is preferred.
A valid driver's license is required; a CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is preferred.
A forklift license is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the job duties, the employee must regularly lift and/or move 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Prolonged periods of standing and/or sitting are required. The ability to reach, stoop, kneel, and bend as necessary is essential. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is necessary.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
