Position Overview:
- Lead a team within NRG's Retail Services Division, managing operations related to accounts receivable.
- Identify and recommend improvements to the collections process for enhanced AR management. Guide, mentor, and supervise a team of collections specialists.
Main Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute collections policies and procedures for residential and commercial accounts.
- Serve as a mentor and collaborator, overseeing various personnel tasks including performance assessments, recruitment, and employee training.
- Track overdue receivables and coordinate team efforts to ensure prompt collection of outstanding debts.
- Negotiate payment arrangements for overdue accounts.
- Manage special initiatives as assigned by management.
- Support collection strategies for all NRG brands to achieve business goals.
- Supervise the structure of commercial collectors with some managerial assistance.
- Analyze data to pinpoint operational enhancements that improve business processes, revenue, and customer satisfaction.
- Build positive relationships with internal clients and key stakeholders involved in the collections process.
- Monitor and boost team productivity using tools such as the collection system (WSCO), AVAYA phone system, SAP, and voice recording.
- Evaluate system and team processes to ensure adherence to industry best practices, minimizing costs and reducing bad debt.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Working Environment:
- Remote office environment with a fast-paced workload.
- Occasional overtime may be necessary for special projects.
- Limited travel may be required.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field from an accredited institution OR a minimum of two years of prior supervisory experience.
- At least 5 years of operational experience in back-office functions such as customer setup, billing, contract management, customer relations, or collections.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of the utility sector.
- Familiarity with the deregulated energy market.
- Working knowledge of the SAP CCS system.
Additional Skills & Abilities:
- Understanding or willingness to learn about CCS billing, accounts receivable systems, and related processes within Customer Operations.
- Familiarity with performance measurement principles and basic analytical skills.

- Ability to lift weights as necessary to fulfill responsibilities.
