Job Title: Packaging Machine Operator I

Threshold Enterprises is seeking a skilled Packaging Machine Operator I to join our team at our Scotts Valley Headquarters in Scotts Valley, CA. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for operating and troubleshooting packaging equipment, ensuring the efficient and accurate production of dietary supplements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain packaging equipment, including TC3 and Fairchild tablet counter/fillers, cotton and desiccant insertion equipment, bottle cappers, and CVC labelers.
  • Complete all documentation required for packaging in a cGMP compliant manner, including packaging batch records, box labels, room and equipment logbooks, and in-process documentation.
  • Monitor product and packaging parameters throughout the process and perform in-process sampling and/or testing as required.
  • Communicate equipment and facilities problems, and any possible mis-counted or mis-labeled product to Packaging Leadership.
  • Assist with plant sanitation, including sweeping, mopping, wiping walls and surfaces, and washing and emptying containers.
  • Maintain good housekeeping with sanitation.
  • Meet all safety expectations, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) and following all safety practices and guidelines.
  • Able to work outside normal scheduled hours and overtime, as required.
  • Work in a dynamic team environment.
  • Ensure full compliance with Company policies, procedures, GMPs, Code of Safe Practices, and SOPs at all times.
  • Maximize packaging equipment uptime, while ensuring consistent plant operation performance to quality, productivity, cost, and safety requirements.
  • Take direction from the Machine Operator II and Team Lead/Tech, as required.
  • Support Machine Operator II with responsibility for set up and changeovers.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Threshold management.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent, preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with equipment or in a packaging environment, or equivalent.
  • Self-motivated and ability to take initiative and use sound judgment in day-to-day decision making.
  • Punctual and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Working conditions: Loud environment with exposure to powder and heavy equipment in a packaging atmosphere.
  • Ability to read and write legibly in English.
  • Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules.
Skills and/or Training Desired:
  • Knowledge in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Some mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic understanding of Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Good decision making.
  • Good time management and organization.
  • Ensure collaborative relationships inside and outside the department.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in written documents.
