Nurse Specialist

Behavioral Health Network is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the New View program. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing individualized care to patients recovering from substance use addiction in the Western Massachusetts community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement patients' plans of care within the scope of practice.
- Monitor physical and psychiatric medication self-administration and residents' health.
- Administer detoxification medications in accordance with established protocols and orders.
- Provide education to patients regarding their illness, problems, treatment, and prognosis.
- Collect data related to patients' status and needs.
- Maintain confidentiality of patients' information at all times.
About the New View Program:
The New View program at BHN serves female-identified patients who have been civilly committed through the Section 35 court proceeding to a designated substance use disorder treatment facility. The program offers acute treatment services (ATS) and clinical stabilization services (CSS).

Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Nursing (required).
- Current Nursing License by the Massachusetts Board of Registration as a Registered Nurse (required).
- At least one year of nursing experience (preferred).
- Proficiency in applying the nursing process to patients and their families.
- Ability to collaborate with other caregivers.
- Ability to delegate to peers and other caregivers consistent with their level of expertise.
- Knowledge of utilization and review standards and implementation.
- Ability to advocate for patients.
- Ability to understand, empathize, and work with an addicted population, including those with co-occurring disorders.
- Working knowledge of ethics and legal parameters of working with substance abuse individuals.
- Knowledge of quality assurance standards and CARF standards.
