Nursing Unit Supervisor/Nurse Leader

United Methodist Communities in Camden County, a premier 5-Star senior living facility renowned for its person-centered care approach, is currently seeking a Nursing Unit Supervisor.

The Nursing Unit Supervisor will be tasked with identifying, promoting, and exemplifying person-directed care. This role views the Health Care Center as the resident's home, striving to cultivate a "home-like" environment while recognizing the significance of consistent caregivers for residents.

Qualifications for a Nursing Unit Supervisor:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN licensure in good standing with the NJ Board of Nursing.
  • Experience in Person-Centered Care settings.
  • Prior experience with MDS and geriatric populations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Point Click Care.
  • Current CPR and I.V. certifications.

Key Responsibilities for a Nursing Unit Supervisor:

  • Review and oversee care plans.
  • Implement, coach, and monitor clinical documentation processes within the unit.
  • Manage the unit's budget and staffing plan.
  • Engage in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care; provide direct nursing care as needed (e.g., medication management, treatments) when staffing is limited.
  • Participate in community meetings and complete in-service training programs in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for conducting COMS Assessments for assigned residents as necessary.
  • Demonstrate leadership in person-centered care by ensuring that medical treatments respect residents' preferences and individuality. Show a strong commitment to achieving the highest clinical outcomes. Maintain collaborative relationships with the unit team. Provide assistance to team members as needed. Participate in all Nurse Mentor leadership meetings, offering insights and feedback. Attend and engage in Neighborhood Council. Observe for minor maintenance needs and delegate tasks accordingly. Ensure timely completion of work orders for maintenance. Identify and address safety concerns for residents and staff within the unit. Assist with daily household activities (e.g., meal service, toileting). Coordinate with the unit team to meet housekeeping needs within available staffing resources. Conduct daily reviews of reports: 24-hour report, census, PPD, incidents, and accidents. Lead daily team meetings to ensure continuity of care as required.
  • Assist in the recruitment, selection, and orientation of new team members assigned to the unit. Schedule sufficient licensed nursing staff for the unit. Assign, delegate, supervise, and evaluate licensed nursing staff and other team members involved in the unit.
  • Monitor the restorative and rehabilitation needs of residents within the unit.
