Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team at Pinnacle. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing a data platform that enables our data scientists and software engineers to deliver high-quality solutions with minimal friction.

Job Summary

The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying data integration workflows. You will work closely with our DevOps team to build optimal solutions for extract, transform, and load between SQL databases, data APIs, and other data sources. Additionally, you will empower data scientists and software developers to develop their own ETL pipelines while serving as a gatekeeper for ETL that goes to production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement high-quality data engineering solutions that meet the needs of our data scientists and end-users.
  • Drive technology innovation that enables data scientists to move from prototype to production-hardened and scalable products in less time.
  • Participate in sprint and release planning, including defining tasks and providing estimates.
  • Collaborate with our Product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Troubleshoot issues and correct defects when required.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of software/data engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with dimensional data modeling & schema design in data warehouses or PaaS.
  • 3+ years of data pipeline/processing experience.
  • Experience working with Azure Cloud tools and architecture.
  • Candidates must have direct work experience developing and deploying at least one project where they implemented the full cloud data pipeline documented on their resume.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Docker containers, including containerizing services and deploying in a cloud environment.
  • Experience using scripting languages, such as bash or PowerShell.
  • Experience with Cognite Data Fusion is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of data science algorithms.
