Job Title: School-Based Health Center Medical Director

Primecare Community Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Director to lead our School-Based Health Center team. As a key member of our health center leadership team, you will be responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and motivation to ensure the best environment for quality patient-centered care.

Job Summary:

The School-Based Health Center Medical Director is responsible for overseeing all medical care and quality of services provided at the health center. This includes working directly with the health center Practice Manager and providers to ensure a patient-centered, productive, and efficient medical home.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the health center team to ensure quality patient-centered care.
  • Oversee the medical care and quality of services provided at the health center.
  • Work with the health center Practice Manager and providers to ensure a patient-centered, productive, and efficient medical home.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire health center providers.
  • Supervise and evaluate health center providers.
  • Foster a professional working relationship amongst all members of the health care team and with the school's administration.
  • Work with the behavioral health staff to ensure the effective integration of care.
  • Lead health center staff meetings.
  • Collaborate in the development and periodic review of written clinical policies, guidelines, and protocols for the functioning of the health center and responsibilities of the clinicians.
  • Provide care to patients in a school-based health center, including care to community members of all ages.
  • Participate in and provide after-hours call coverage, as assigned.
  • Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
  • Order, perform, and interpret tests and analyze records, reports, and examination information to diagnose patients' condition.
  • Complete charting in Athena and required paperwork within 72 business hours.
  • Work one evening each week and one Saturday every four weeks.
  • Provide 3 full days of clinical care in the school-based health center and 1 full day of clinical care at another of our sites, location TBD.
  • Participate in health center and provider meetings.
Requirements:
  • Bilingual Spanish/English or Polish/English preferred, but not required.
  • Board certification in specialty must be kept current.
  • Unrestricted, active license to practice as MD or DO within the State of Illinois.
  • Active, current Controlled Substance license within the State of Illinois and federal DEA certificate, without restriction.
  • Up-to-date provider-level BLS CPR.
  • Prior experience in a school-based health center and federally qualified health center.
  • Experience with Athena helpful.

Salary:

All wages are based on relevant years of experience, time since completing a residency program, and/or licensure. The minimum rate is the wage that a newly graduated Physician will earn. We are willing to consider someone interested in 32 hours per week instead of 40, and wages would be adjusted accordingly.

Proof of full vaccination is required prior to the beginning date of employment. If you have a medical or religious contraindication, please inform Human Resources when the offer is extended.
