Job Title: Public Services Specialist

This is a senior-level position in the Public Services Specialist clerical series. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in providing office support and customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to County visitors and callers, handling complex issues and sensitive situations with tact and professionalism.
  • Use a multi-line telephone system to answer calls, take messages, and direct callers to the appropriate person or department.
  • Perform a variety of administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and record-keeping.
  • Assist with special projects and events, such as prisoner transportation and visitor intake.
  • Collaborate with other office staff to ensure seamless operations and provide backup support as needed.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a government or public sector setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
