The Direct Support Professional IV Campus/Shift Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the State Supported Living Center. This position is responsible for coordinating and overseeing activities, ensuring facility-wide staff coverage, and monitoring the homes, infirmary, activity centers, and grounds.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinates all shift activities within residential services, ensuring adequate staff coverage and addressing emergencies and incidents promptly.
- Monitors the homes, infirmary, activity centers, and grounds, watching for unusual occurrences and addressing them immediately.
- Ensures the effective delivery of care, treatment, and support activities by observing and monitoring the activities and work behaviors of direct support staff during campus rounds.
- Provides coaching and in-service training to staff as needed to improve work performance.
- Serves as the contact person for abuse/neglect allegations and responds immediately to ensure the safety and health of individuals.
- Monitors and documents the use of restraints and may be required to participate in restraints.
- Coordinates and/or assists with unusual incidents to ensure compliance with appropriate rules and standards.
- Conducts special audits/reviews and monitoring as scheduled or requested by facility administration to ensure on-going service delivery and the health and safety of individuals served.
- Knowledge of individual care techniques and of treatment, therapy, and developmental programs.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
- Skills in using good judgment and making effective decisions when dealing with unusual/critical incidents.
- Ability to react quickly and calmly in an emergency.
- Ability to train staff in job-related subject areas.
- Ability to master basic techniques of individual care and training.
- Ability to be flexible in handling work assignments.
This position may be required to drive a state-owned vehicle.
May serve in an on-call status on a rotating schedule as required to meet operational needs of the facility.
