This is a remote, contractual position that requires residing in the U.S., Canada, or countries within a few hours of the EST time zone.

We're looking for an experienced editor with a passion for everything tech related to join our team as a Linux Section Editor.

Linux Section Overview:

Our Linux Specialists are everyday Linux users with in-depth knowledge on the ins and outs of the system.

Responsibilities:

We're seeking someone responsible for editing, fact-checking, and providing feedback on articles to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to editorial guidelines.

You'll be monitoring the article schedule using tools like Asana or our in-house CMS to ensure publication targets are met.

You'll review (and assist in crafting) pitches to the Linux section for quality and suitability.

We expect you to contribute to the development of SEO researched ideas and generate Linux topics for the writer base.

You'll review and assess due dates associated with tasks and self-publish to the section (or other sections on the site) to meet the writing quota.

We require you to be present and engaged in required meetings.

What We're Looking For:

We need someone with experience in writing and editing for an online tech publication.

Expert knowledge of everything Linux is essential.

You should have first-hand experience with a Linux distribution and be able to run multiple distributions as virtual machines for testing.

A high level of organization and great time management skills are required.

Possess proficient communication skills with remote teams.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 per annum.
