At Wellpath, we're committed to providing quality care to every patient with compassion, collaboration, and innovation. As a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), you'll work under the direct supervision of a Health Services Administrator (HSA), Program Manager (PM), or higher medical professional, assisting the Physician in providing medical care and treatment to the inmate population.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate patient care plans by conducting assessments, developing plans, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes
  • Provide emergency care for identified medical emergencies and coordinate patient transfers to appropriate facilities
  • Treat and manage non-psychotic behavioral health disorders and provide ongoing care for patients on maintenance doses of non-psychotic medications
  • Participate in Quality Management and Peer Review activities, document findings using the S.E. method, and attend quarterly Quality Management meetings

Requirements:

  • Completion of a master's program in nursing (NPs) or an accredited education program for PAs
  • Previous correctional/detention facility experience
  • Unrestricted current license, certification or registration in state of practice - must maintain all certifications, educational requirements, licensing, etc.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration
