Job Overview

As a Donor Center Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in the blood collection process at our fixed site locations. You will collaborate with your team to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for volunteer donors, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.

You will be responsible for collecting lifesaving blood donations that are delivered to hospitals, working closely with your team to meet goals and regulatory requirements. The Red Cross offers paid phlebotomy training, providing you with the opportunity to grow your healthcare skills and career within the nation's top humanitarian organization.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be detail-oriented, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will also need to be able to work a variable schedule, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood donations from volunteer donors
  • Collaborate with your team to create a welcoming environment for donors
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of donors throughout the process
  • Meet goals and regulatory requirements for blood collection
Requirements
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum one year customer service experience in a public setting
  • Current, valid driver's license with good driving record
  • Ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
