Job Title: Spiritual Care Coordinator

Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Spiritual Care Coordinator to join our team at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen. As a Spiritual Care Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing emotional and spiritual support to residents, families, and staff. You will maintain ongoing relationships with local clergy and community members to encourage their involvement in our ministry and spiritual requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, organize, and implement spiritual services for the Bethesda organizations.
  • Abide by the duties outlined in the Spiritual Care Guide.
  • Demonstrate responsibility, accountability, and dependability in your work.
  • Make recommendations for supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Report any problems or concerns to the Administrator.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of services.

Requirements:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer certification or be working on certification by the Association of Professional Chaplains and/or have an accreditation from a school of Lutheran Theology or Ordination.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting is helpful.

Working Conditions:

  • Works in all areas of the facility, including churches and hospitals as needed.
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately.
