Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Surgical Specialist to join our dynamic team at Ethos Veterinary Health. As a key member of our surgery department, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch medical care to pets and their owners.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage for this position is $31-$36 per hour, with opportunities for advancement based on experience. Our benefits package includes:

  • A sign-on bonus of up to $5,000
  • Hourly pay range: $30.00 - $35.00 depending on experience
  • Shift differential for any shift hours worked within 6p-6am $3/hr Mon-Thurs and $5/hr Fri-Sun

Responsibilities

This challenging and rewarding role involves:

  • Monitoring anesthesia, inducing, maintaining, and recovering patients undergoing surgical procedures
  • Providing direct support to veterinarians in the surgical suite, including prepping patients for surgery and post-operative recovery
  • Properly handling and restraining medically compromised patients
  • Performing technical procedures such as venipuncture, catheter placement, and administering IV fluids
  • Administering medications (controlled and non-controlled) PO, SQ, IM, and IV as directed by veterinarians
  • Educating pet owners on post-operative care and at-home care instructions
  • Assisting with advanced imaging (Fluoroscopy, X-ray, Ultrasound, MRI, CT)
  • Communicating and collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth workflow and patient care
  • Participating in developmental training to enhance skills and stay updated on new procedures and technologies in veterinary medicine
  • Managing patient records, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A valid Veterinary Technician License (LVT)
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician
  • Experience in specialty or surgical veterinary medicine is preferred but not required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with proficiency in English
