We are seeking a highly skilled Tower Crane Operator to join our team at Kirby Inland Marine. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our tower cranes, as well as performing routine maintenance and repairs.
Key Responsibilities- Equipment Oversight: Oversee all portable barge equipment at our facilities, including cargo hoses, vapor hoses, filter pots, skid pumps, detonation arrestors, and nitrogen bottles.
- Tower Crane Maintenance: Ensure the tower crane is operating correctly and safely, perform routine maintenance, and report any issues as they arise.
- Equipment Inspection and Testing: Clean, inspect, and test cargo/vapor hoses and other barge equipment stored at our facilities.
- Safe Rigging and Crane Operations: Understand and implement safe rigging and crane operations practices.
- Communication and Coordination: Communicate effectively with coordinators, dispatch, and other team members regarding equipment needs and crane operations.
- Data Documentation: Ensure accurate documentation of all data on paper and digital forms.
- Equipment Tracking and Inventory: Manage equipment tracking, inventory, and maintenance for all equipment.
- Facility Support: Assist with facility maintenance and troubleshooting tasks as needed.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, with advanced knowledge of computer software, including Outlook, Oracle, Oasis, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Shipyard Experience: Previous experience working in a shipyard environment is highly desirable.
