Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Orbital Welding Technician will play a crucial role in our Production Department by executing welding tasks on high and ultra-high purity gas delivery system components utilizing semi-automatic orbital welding machinery. This role is performed in a controlled clean-room setting and necessitates a solid comprehension of engineering schematics, blueprints, and job specifications. The ideal candidate will possess excellent manual dexterity, a background in mechanical assembly, and proficiency in manufacturing measurement and mathematics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret project drawings, specifications, work orders, and operational procedures
  • Position, align, and prepare components in accordance with specifications
  • Detect defective components and/or assess and examine welded surfaces for quality assurance
  • Safely manage orbital welding machinery
  • Execute standard welding techniques
  • Complete production documentation and maintain accurate records
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe workspace (5S methodology)
  • Be available for overtime as necessary
  • Collaborate effectively with team members for component and equipment needs

Essential Qualifications:

  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and consistency
  • Robust mechanical understanding
  • Exceptional hand-eye coordination with the capability to manipulate small tools and components
  • Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on time management and meeting deadlines

Requirements:

  • Must possess good vision and manual dexterity
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods
  • Capable of adhering to protocols and instructions consistently
  • High School diploma preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in a production, assembly, or manufacturing setting
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
