Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Chiropractor to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a Chiropractor, you will provide examination, diagnosis, treatment, and management of non-operative musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Develops plans, coordinates, evaluates, and integrates all program elements into a comprehensive chiropractic program for the medical center.
  • Advises and consults with pain management service needs and assists with developing both short and long-range continuous improvements.
  • Develops and/or updates and implements appropriate policies, procedures, plans, and service agreements that guide and support the Chiropractic Patient Care Services.
  • Recommends requests for program space, staffing, equipment, operational supplies, etc.
  • Performs outpatient musculoskeletal and neuromuscular diagnoses and treatments that emphasize function, rehabilitation, and injury prevention and patient wellness.
  • Demonstrates expertise in assessing and treating referred patients with physical dysfunctions due to orthopedic, musculoskeletal, and/or neuromuscular disorders of the spine, peripheral joints, and soft tissues.
  • Provides clinical responsibilities that include ordering diagnostic studies and establishing a treatment plan based on interview, clinical findings, and study results.
  • Exhibits leadership in initiating changes in patient care programs based on current concepts and research study findings.
Requirements
  • Citizen of the United States.
  • Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree from an accredited chiropractic school.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice chiropractic in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • English language proficiency.
  • Meet the requirements for the grade level of the position.
Working Conditions

The work schedule may include rotating call coverage, weekdays, nights, weekends, and/or holidays. The supervisor will determine the actual work schedule (FT, PT, Intermittent, and the hours worked) upon selection based on the needs of the organization.

The position is in the Excepted Service and does not confer competitive status. The health-related positions in VA are covered by Title 38, and are not covered by the Schedule A excepted appointment authority.
