Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide range of laboratory procedures in all departments, exercising independent judgment and evaluating present procedures.
  • Work closely with supervisors and coworkers to complete patient testing, quality control, correlation studies, and special projects.
  • Participate in specimen collection procedures and maintain a clean and safe hospital environment.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations to maintain accreditation and licensure.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients to provide accurate results and information.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on analyzers and troubleshoot instrument errors and malfunctions.
  • Develop and implement quality control protocols and procedures to ensure accurate results.
  • Stay up-to-date with technological advances, disease processes, and regulatory matters to provide the highest level of patient care.

Requirements:

  • ASCP, HEW, or NCA certification required.
  • Less than 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, with evening shifts and every third weekend. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
