Clark Nexsen Energy Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Energy Project Manager to join our energy consulting team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and managing energy projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and motivate energy project teams to achieve project goals and objectives
  • Develop and present project proposals to clients, contractors, and project team members
  • Coordinate with clients to ensure successful project completion
  • Facilitate relationships between clients, contractors, and project teams
  • Run project meetings and participate in firm-wide management meetings
  • Support marketing and business development activities in the energy sector
  • Prepare contracts and fee proposals for review and negotiation
  • Ensure staff compliance with quality control policies and procedures
  • Develop and manage project planning, budgeting, and critical project objectives
  • Verify project consultants are properly licensed and insured
  • Assemble project teams with input from Managing Principals, Design Directors, and Department Heads
  • Work with, respond to, and take direction from Managing Principals and Senior Project Managers
  • Ability to travel up to 50% and obtain a US Government issued Secret level Security Clearance
Project Responsibilities:
  • Perform Managing Principal duties as assigned
  • Monitor scope/schedule creep for potential additional services
  • Provide weekly progress reports to clients
  • Maintain project documentation in electronic files and Newforma
  • Assemble and maintain design discipline sheet mock-ups and work plans
  • Prepare and monitor project budgets and schedules with input from each discipline and consultants
  • Facilitate project team meetings to review project scope, progress, and schedule issues
  • Review RFI and shop drawing submittal responses for appropriateness and completeness
  • Prepare draft monthly invoices, 12-month invoice projections, and monitor accounts receivable
  • Review and approve project-related expenses and consultant invoices
  • Assemble and review design "milestone" submittal deliverables and ensure completeness and quality of the submittal
  • Perform project closeout and archiving tasks
  • Schedule QC/QA reviews
  • Schedule and/or conduct periodic site visits during construction
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture preferred
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect preferred
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) desirable
  • Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification preferred
  • Understanding of sustainable design principles and design practices with LEED AP accreditation preferred
  • Additional energy certifications such as Certified Energy Auditor and Commissioning Authority (CxA) encouraged
  • Working familiarity with design and production software commonly used to execute energy projects
  • Typically a licensed professional or 8+ years of significant design and practice experience in a leadership role in the areas of the firm's practice and a minimum of 5 years direct experience in the energy sector
Workplace Flexibility:

We have selected two common days in the office to nurture collaboration and innovation and to support learning and growth through engagement with colleagues. We are asking everyone to be present on Mondays and Thursdays, with a required third day that will provide additional flexibility and be set established between you and your supervisor (with consideration given to your project team members and clients).

Physical Requirements:

Work is sedentary and often performed in an office setting. Work area is lighted, heated, and ventilated. This position may require extended periods of standing, sitting, as well as some repetitive movements, bending, and lifting of minimal weight.
