Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with direct experience in the hedge fund industry to join one of the world's top-performing hedge funds. This is a high-impact role that offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical projects that drive profitability across the firm. You will collaborate with quantitative researchers, portfolio managers, and engineers to design and build cutting-edge trading platforms and systems.

The ideal candidate will have not only strong technical skills but also prior industry experience in a hedge fund or financial services environment, either through full-time employment or internships. We are looking for engineers with a top-tier academic background and a passion for solving complex, data-driven problems in high-performance environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and develop high-performance trading systems using Python.
  • Work with quantitative researchers and portfolio managers to implement, test, and deploy innovative trading strategies.
  • Analyze large datasets and develop predictive models to uncover trading opportunities.
  • Continuously refine and optimize algorithms and trading platforms to improve profitability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new tools, features, and technologies into the firm's trading infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5-15 years of industry experience in software engineering, with a focus on developing complex systems using Python. Experience working at a hedge fund (full-time or internship) is required.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a top-tier US university with a minimum GPA of 3.7. Dual degrees or double majors in Computer Science and related fields such as Mathematics or Statistics are highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Mastery of data structures, algorithms, and their application in trading or financial environments.
  • Industry Experience: Strong understanding of hedge fund operations and trading environments, with hands-on experience developing systems in the financial services sector.
  • Commercial Awareness: Demonstrated ability to understand and influence the business impact of technical work. Must be able to communicate complex concepts to stakeholders across various functions.
  • Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to work in high-performance, cross-functional teams.
