Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Metson Group. As a Diesel Mechanic - Fleet Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair of our fleet of vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and equipment
  • Conduct troubleshooting procedures to identify and resolve issues
  • Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on diesel engines and equipment
  • Operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment
  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner

Requirements:

  • Factory or dealer certified/qualified or technical school trained in diesel mechanics
  • Three (3) years documented experience in troubleshooting procedures, predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance of diesel engines
  • Commercial driving experience and familiarity with area nuances, such as back roads and traffic patterns
  • Knowledge and experience with Federal and State Department of Transportation rules and regulations
  • Ability to manage time and routes for a streamlined delivery experience
  • Ability to pass and maintain a DOT physical
  • Work exceptionally well independently
  • Open and transparent communication
  • Familiarity with GPS devices or map apps
  • Familiarity with DOT rules and regulations
  • Participation in a Random Drug Screening Program
  • Administration of MMSI Fleet Readiness Program
  • Effective use of a computer and experience with MS Word and Excel
